I'm all in favor of keeping things as long as practical. I have heard that heat and sunlight will effect mono.

This I know. I wouldn't want to fish bluefin tuna on 10 year old mono though. It is cheap compared to your trip and who wants to have a fish break off because your line is old.

Fish don't just break your line they break your heart.

Fished there a few times.
I havent fished with K & M but have heard positive things about them.
I have towed a 17 CC and up to a 28 ft sportfisher.
The roads are better on Mex 1 being wider than before but with rain I heard it was washed out again.

Its about a 6 hour drive from the San Diego Mexico border. Dont travel at night.
The old mill is where I have stayed

Yep, that one that was damaged was what I fished on. Only thing I never liked on those trips was the several road blocks down and back that were manned with what looked like Teenagers with M16s

That was a little un nerving. I noticed they seem to be pretty top heavy with all the additions.

I always said I never felt comfortable with a kid with a Uzi. They were always professional and polite though.

We gave them water... Seemed to be a little better. Found out they were more interested in my daughters and her friends that were in the back cab of my truck. Next check point went better. Haha

I have not personally fished Tony Reyes yet. I have heard alot of good things about them and plan on doing a trip within the next year.

Off subject slightly, their competition had a tragic accident years back when the wind came up on the way to the midriff Islands .

Bob, What part of So Cal are you at?

I have made tacos from them. I Bar B Q them in foil. Season with a little salt & pepper and heavy on the chilli powder. Throw some cilantro pinch of lime on corn tortillas with the fish and a cold cevaza. Very tasty, easy and healthy.....sorta LOL!

Good on all us that take kids out!!!
I never met a kid that gets in trouble with a fishing rod in their hand.

Robert .... Great Idea. I had wanted to do that with my grandparents but never did and now they have passed (about 30 years ago) Now I'm the old one and my kids say the same thing about me

I came along (born) just as they were stopped in our town. But a old farmer still has a few on his section of road!

No Pa. lobsters here but boy I do love them. Hunted in Nova Scotia once, our friend told us when he was in school all the rich kids had beef sandwiches and they had to eat lobster. Tough life!

I hear ya! 😆 As a commercial abalone diver I would trade abs for lobster to the commercial guys. Now I have lobsters that I gladly pass to someone else to enjoy. Don't get me wrong.. I snuck a bite from my granddaughter when she wasn't looking. 😆
