I am a retired man now for nearly two years. Fortunately, I am blessed to have most of my time spent on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. So, I saltwater fish in the ocean and the shallow waters of the sound. Although I have been fishing for many years, I am not very productive at it. Truthfully though, it is okay. Just being out there is enjoyable with the observation of nature's wonders. Of course, I would love to be a better fisherman and maybe I will learn some useful tips here.

Welcome Govna. I just came back Monday from a week in Kill Devil Hills. Loved the area but due to some serious health issues never got to fish as planned. Can't help with the fishing, but this is a great site with many wonderful people willing to help. Enjoy retirement and fish on.

How did it escalate to this?! You didn't really say anything Spirit. Certainly nothing that would want me to punch you in the nose.

My sister in law watched this small gator moving around duck weed for about 5 mins. This is cleanest pic she took.

Great Miami River in south central Ohio.

Now my brother is a legendary Bulls—-ter but never known his wife to be. Mater of fact she’s kinda religious about nature and healing plants and all

She checked with ODNR and it’s not uncommon for gator siting or capture here in southern Ohio.

Always thought it was urban legend

Need a new belt Ben?

Check the beach at low tide, should be around 5 pm. Holes are easier to spot. If you have GPS capability put in waymarks so you can find them when the water is deeper. The high surf is from the hurricane a couple hundred miles off shore. Watch for rips, usually you can see where there is a stronger outflow. This is where there will be a break in the bar and in/out for fish. Don't know how much surf you do, so this may be preaching to the choir😄😄

Thanks, Fly. I have done very little surf fishing, so I appreciate the help. Will let you know how we do, hopefully with pics.

Take time to cherish those closest to us

Good thought Wulffy and good follow-up Plum. I am at OBX now with my best friend of 60+ years. It is an amazing friendship which I cherish. We have and always will be there for each other at any time and for any reason. I truly wish that everyone was able to have that in their lives

Good morning Ronnie and everyone. 60°and clear here, going up to mid 70°s later. Last day of vacation, back to work on Monday. Supposed to get very "breezy " as the sun gets higher, 20-30 with the gusts. I'm gonna give Zoar a shot, it's in the valley, and hopefully less windy. Have a great Friday everybody.

Good morning everyone. Good luck today at Zoar, Fred. Got to Outer Banks late yesterday afternoon. Torrential rain most of drive from Raleigh but started clearing late afternoon. Forecast for next 5 days sunny and 78-83, I'll take that! High surf advisory for today so going on exploratory mission today, may try the surf later. Good fishing to those that go, good weekend to all

Yes it was YB. I'm thinking local, maybe the weed farm at Lake Beseck in Middlefield. It's tiny but challenging with the heavy weed growth. Usually no jetskis or skiers on weekday mornings. It'll give me a chance to gather my thoughts and make plans for the rest of the week. I'll have to see when tomorrow night's rain is gonna end, and if we'll get wind after. You must be getting psyched for your trip. Did you guys book a charter down at the Banks?

Wish I could join you this week, but yeah really excited about OBX. Getting good reports about what a great vacation place it is and the fishing is excellent. Haven't booked anything, want to try to find a split charter. Don't really want to spend the $$ for a charter for just my friend and I. If charter doesn't work, there are piers and plenty of surf. We will find a way. Have a great rest of your week buddy. I'll send pics

My main work on the boat is finished, had to put in a new floor and all painted and carpeted. Built my structure to keep it under cover and now waiting to get the roofing sheets to finish that off. What I need seems to be out of stock.
Ready now to get the motor running, has power and tested starter motor and it will kick but not getting power from the solenoid. Have a new ignition switch arriving tomorrow. Maybe not be a big deal to get it going

Boat is looking awesome Ronnie. Can't believe what a great job you've done, know it must have been a lot of work. Good luck with the motor to finish it up

I'm okay. We went out Saturday morning but Bear had a lot on his mind. A drunk hit his parked car Friday night and probably totaled it. The guy must have been flying down a city street. He pushed Bear's car about 100 feet down the street. Left his own car there too and fled the scene. Tough year for Bear. One thing after another since January. Btw, one small fish
that day.

Sorry to hear about Bear's car. You guys can't seem to catch a break. Hope things turn around soon.

Did a major cleanup down south. Three rooms will have to be gutted. Downstairs will be downsized and rebuilt. Waiting on the adjuster. This is looking down from the upstairs walkway to the deck over the pier. Other than that we’re doing better. Helping family and friends out.

You certainly have your work cut out for you Four, but you will get it done. Good luck.
