Am wondering if a good weather-proof layer of spray-on paint (like Rustorium , or marine paints) would be an effective solution in this case? Any of you have ever tried...?

Question: What do you think would be the ideal length (feet/yards) of the invisible leaders before connecting it to the terminal rig? Don't you think it would work just as well if you just tie: main braided main directly to a swivel, then tie an invisible 3 ft leader with hook for live bait (or hi-lo rig) to other end of swivel?

Well, Gents: Just remind her that when you go fishing you're practicing and upholding democracy; 'cause fishing is like sex and freedom: when it's good, it's very good and when it's bad, it's still good! No cause for complains!! :)

Hi Andy:

Sounded like you have had a ball fishing up there!
How would you compare overall fishing in Modesto territories to Orange County beaches & Lakes? Am retiring in Huntington beach, Orange County now.

Continue to have good ones up there!

Quoted: " If you fish in our lakes and streams you could be exposing yourself to mercury and PCB,s..."

Hmmm, to be complete and truthful, why didn't they write: "If you are existing on this planet Earth nowadays, you are exposed to all sources of deadly pollution" ?

Well, that is the reality of California. The real question is: what must be done (???) to straighten out the bureaucrats' heads in Sacramento with regard to countless state taxes, license fees, registration fees & costs, etc... They have been keeping those so high to maintain their regular annual salary raises at the citizens' expenses, including that of seniors living in this state... Get an answer?

Jawid: "...Throw fish in the harbor? ..." The State Capitols and/or Governors' office would be proper places to throw your fishes, wouldn't they?!

After a life-long paying heaps of countless taxes, fees, charges.., should seniors be entitled of some breaks during their 'sunsetting years'? And, should there be a "Fishing Revolution" to wake politicians up and to make this happen? I checked with the US history book and haven't seen such event yet, now is the time? :)

" All states need to take care of their seniors.."

Should we send this realistic message to the governors of all 50 states in the USA, or to the United Nations perhaps..? :)

Big "Amen" to that!

I know the beautiful area but never fished there. You could go on YouTube and search for a guy named "Kaca Fishing". This Korean young guy seemed to fish there regularly, a lot, primarily for Opaleye species.

On the same subject of fishing license, I wonder if any of you know of which states in the USA have a special discount price for senior citizens? I believe California does not have such needed treatment:( !

Shimano Sustain and Stradic reels are fine ones. I have been using them for years mostly at beaches and piers without much problems, except one time the big fish pulled the whole setup w/ Stradic into sandy water. I had to take it apart to clean, re-grease and oil it. They are doing just fine now.
