I fish for catfish but never have in the lake you plan to fish.
In the lake I fish good baits are bluegill--heads, fillets and whole(live or dead). Shad dead or alive. Carp head, tail or filet. I fish using a slipcork, on a medium to heavy rod from the bank.

Bank fishing at T&P Lake, Baird Texas. 2nd cast, parallel to the rocky bank, 2ft of water, with 3/8 oz spinner bait with a blue gill colored skirt. I never 'bass fish'...y'all know I usually target bluegill and cats...this may change my mind. Making money 'perch jerking' and cast netting. My bait guy is buying hand size and smaller bluegill..dead or alive.
Buying cast netted shad by the pound. Not alot of $ but it's fun
