Nice fish Ivey! Almost looks like it is full of eggs!

It's not full of eggs yet but soon. This time of year here these fish really put the feed bag on getting ready for the spawn.

Well guys I got to fish for two hours this morning, only caught one but it was a nice one 4 pounds 14 oz. Although it was a very ugly landing, I dropped my rod on the hook set then dropped it again after it jumped I somehow managed to land this guy. Man it felt good to get this guy on and fight it back to the boat. I've been dreading my upcoming surgery but after dropping my rod twice, surprised it didn't go in the lake, I'm thinking it's past time so I'll be glad when it's over.

My vision is still pretty good, for the most part. I have something in my right eye that blocks my vision, makes it blurry. I just blink and move my eye around and it usually clears.
However, I do need readin glasses for finer print.

I've got that same deal with the blurry stuff but a few blinks clears it. Eye doc. says I've got dry eye and prescribed eye drops for the problem. Went to the drug store to pick it up and they said $600.00 with my insurance so I told them to keep it. Been using Thera Tears and it helps keeps the blur away a lot.

Been there done that it's amazing how removing the wicked wicked fixes your arm immediately

Thanks dbed, He gave me a steroid shot to get me by and it has helped a lot. This is one surgery I'm looking forward to, sorta. Get this fixed and get back to life without this pain.

Hazel eyes' here and until I was 52 had better than 20/20 and see very well after dark. back then when the eye dr. told me to read the smallest line I could on the eye chart, it used to read madeintheUSA. After cataract surgery back to 20/20 at a distance but gotta have reading glasses now for extra fine print.

Once alone a time, I used to fish almost every day. Then one day a wicked disk in my neck went bad and cast a spell on my arm so it just didn't want to work, my hand went numb and I started dropping things, just couldn't hold on to anything. One day a Doctor told me I needed surgery so we set the date March 14th and with a bit of luck he'll fix the wicked disk and I'll be fishing again in no time and we'll lived happily ever after.

Great mount. Also see u taped the cables. That is also good. Neighbor that works for Garmin said they do not recommend using cable ties. Over a period of time the tie damages the wires
He said they have had many claims for transducer not working properly and when they get the transducer in and investigate it they find the markings of the tie and that is also where the damage occurred.

Yea that's in the mounting instructions, don't use cable ties. Don't know if you can tell by the pic but thats a short piece of 1 1/4 inch PVC bolted to the ram mount with a 1" main shaft thru. that way it can be raised and lowered by sliding up and down or just tilted back with the ram mount. I like it because I can use the spot lock on my trolling motor turning everywhere and the transducer aims where I point it.

On fork u need to have a mount that will breakaway when it hits a stump or u will damage the transducer.
This lake when built had boat roads cleared before closing the gates. Everything else remains natural, oak, bodarc, pine, cedar and other trees remain standing.
Some places it is a jungle getting into coves to fish.

Mounted mine with a RAM mount easy to raise and lower or fold back and gives if it hits anything.

But don't forget the cost of the mounting arm to get the live scope into the water. It all adds up for some of us. And yes you can get good buys throughout the year. This past Black Friday is an example.
And if you see a good buy on line but not in the store, Cabela's will honor their online sales in the store.

I made my mounting arm myself out of PVC, it's independent of the trolling motor and I can adjust it by hand.

Thank you so much. Didn’t realize the live scope was that expensive

I've been using a Garmin Livescope and they show pretty much everything in the water out to 120'. Up close, 30' or so you can really see everything. I use it for Crappie fishing in the close up and can almost tell you when to set the hook. targeting bass at 70 to 80 feet is breeze and you'll defiantly be surprised just how many fish look at your bait that don't take it. All in all the underwater cameras are limited to a few feet from the camera and the forward looking sonar, see's a long way out. Cabale's normally has a Spring sale they don't advertise to sell off last years products, I bought my Garmin at half price in one of these sales, I had to go to the store and ask when their sale was. They had a couple pallets of the Garmin and Hummingbird scopes and within an hour they were sold out. Get there early...

Guys We took my grandson back to his father, Russell, this morning. He's doing much better. the lesions on his face is drying up and he said the pain had subsided a good deal. He saw an eye dr. yesterday and his vision hasn't been affected. Thank everyone for your prayers and good wishes. Hopefully he's thru the worst of this.

If there's anything good about this situation is Russell ask us to watch Brooks my grandson for a few days. He's a really good kid just shy of 2 years old now. Talking, saying his abc's counting up to 6 he's a handful but a pleasure to keep.

Thanks everyone, I know he's in a ton of pain but he's a strong young man, I just pray his doesn't last as long as mine did. Plum Bob is right about the two shots, I had to wait 6 months after I recovered before I could take the first shot but they were free for me at Walgreens.

Guys I'm asking anyone who would to say a prayer for my son Russell. He contracted the shingles on the left side of his face and head and is in danger of loosing the eyesight in his left eye. After having the shingles myself I know what type pain he is in so I went to visit him yesterday. The virus has moved into his left eye and basically already taken most of his vision in that eye. The doctors say it's possible he may totally loose the use of that eye or totally recover. He's using a salve in the affected eye and in terrible pain.
I've always thought the shingles were an old persons desiese but he's 33 and the Doctor told him the virus was activated by a steroid shot he recently got for a RSV ailment. I've posted this before and will again, if you are 50 or above and believe in preventative vaccines please go get a shingles vaccine. Believe me after my 6 month ordeal with this nasty virus, you do not want any part of it and a simple shot could prevent the misery that goes along with the onset of this virus.
Thanks in advance for those who would include my son in their prayers.
