HAVE THE NET READY…BEFORE YOU START FISHING!

I trolled around, in search of the “hump” in the deepest part of the lake I was told about. I took two rods along and a couple swim baits, just in case. I marked fish for about an hour and just couldn’t take it anymore. I had to try to catch one…
I cast out a Google eye jig with a swim bait trailer (about 4 1/2”) as I was in 40’ of water. Tons of fish were suspended between 8-15’ down. I did see a few along the bottom which may have been the walleyes I was hoping to find? I let the bait sink to the bottom and I tried to hop it along with a jerk…pause…crank…jerk style retrieve. I am not sure how far back the lure was, but I felt a tug…and a miss. I paused and another hit…followed by another miss. I paused and BAM! I set the hook and it was game on! I don’t know if this one had friends along and there was a competition going on, but it was determined to eat this lure. It jumped about 20’ from the boat and did a 1 1/2 and dove under the boat. I kept her away from the motor and envisioned the net under the casting deck. She jumped again as I was trying to get in position for a lip landing, or a belly grab. This time she flipped me off and disappeared. It wasn’t “Walter” from 18 years ago, but it would have been a new PB Smallie, for sure. The season isn’t open, so it would have been a CPR session, anyway.
I am going to head out again shortly as my chores are done. Cloudy and calm as the showers have stopped. Mama is less than enthusiastic about joining me, though 🤷🏼‍♂️ I guess I better catch something first…
The net is already in position 🤦🏼‍♂️

first I like to say I'm 73 and have know idea whatnots were made out of when I was 12 had a net with me was fishing in a deep catch basin that they store wooden lamp poles in at any rate hooked into something big again mind you the equipment I had was hand me downs well went to land the fish with the net and the fish was flooding all over then tore thru the webbing did a slap with its tail and was gone never knew what or how big but my lesson always check the net

It's not GUN violence, it's EVIL VIOLENCE, the gun is just a tool, as are automobiles, pipe bombs, pressure cooker bombs, knives, etc.

As a conspiratorial thought, does anyone besides me notice that there always seems to be a rash of these types of shootings, whenever there is a big push for MORE gun laws (which don't stop anything) and they stall out?

my belief that the boy was instigated to do that by someone who knew he had problems and just kept pushing him .there are people in this world that would do that to futher their cause which is against the 2nd.and yes I have known people like that just look what they dot children in a war situation brainwash the children to hate which is what the isis people do I feel for the loss of life that happened and think again that parents now days don't pay any attention to their children enough to recognize their problem
