Hello stagers,
Today's trivia question has to do with British taxes
.
In 1696 King William III placed a tax on blank.
If you can venture further how did British Citizens avoid paying the tax 🤔
Commander Bell out 👍

I'll guess stamps and the colonists refused to pay the tax.

Fished a pond in Ghent, NY last week, just to get in the swing again. Didn’t expect to catch a thing, 41 degree water, but I was pleasantly surprised by a few nice bass. (My boot is 12 inches long).

Doesn't NY bass season open June 15th?

Hello stagers,
The word LULU means many different things in many different languages.
For instance in Europe and the Americas LULU means: A outstanding thing or person.
In Native Hawaiian: LULU means Peaceful Protected, or Calm.
In Latin LULU is a nickname for Louise.
My question for you today is:
What does the word LULU mean in African Swahili ?
I'll bet we're in for some lulu's trying to answer this one.

In Africa I think it is spelled Zulu.

Andy April was born on April 1st. He lost all his father’s assets in many bad business dealings and so people started calling him Andy April the fool. At 19 he married a 61 year old woman who divorced him because of his foolishness. He used to read all kinds of fake stories like you’re doing now.

Actually, in the old days the new year started on April 1st. When the calendar was changed, New Year's Day was move to January 1st. Those who continued to celebrate the new year on April 1st were considered fools and were treated that way. Therefore I didn't fall for your story. Happy New Year!

Just pointing out that it didn’t help them and that they wasn’t the only team doing it

Read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston_Astros_sign_stealing_scandal. It very much DID help them. Who else used illegal video cameras? I know of no evidence that other people did it . And even if they did, that is the quintessential child's excuse. No offense to you personally and I do not wish to go on with this discussion, I don't wish to use this forum for quarreling. My apologies if I offended you or anyone else.

Cheating is cheating in all walks of life. The problem was that the powers that be were too lazy to prosecute the cheaters and offered them immunity to confess which they, of course, did. What is the difference between what they did and force-feeding sinkers down the gullets of fish to "win" a tournament?

These animals can actually be admitted to public events if they are registered as a service animal

How many have noticed that the newer split shots are an extra hard a you can’t hardly bite them closed.
My area used to sell water gremlin brand they were soft. These newer ones are maybe babbet or tin. And you have to use pliers to close them and with light line you can crimp and weaken the line.

I too thought that all lead products (including in shotgun shells) were outlawed. I still have old split shot as well as sinkers my father made with his molds (he had army men molds too). Now all is banned. When I was young I had a Chemistry set complete with asbestos trivet and a jar of carbon tetrachloride!

The first games were played today.
Who is your favorite MLB team?
My favorite team the NY Yankees beat the Houston Astros by a score of 5 to 4.
How did your team fare?

I've been a Yankee fan since 1955. Glad they came back against the World Series cheaters who should have received a lifetime ban like Pete Rose and the probably innocent Shoeless Joe Jackson.
