Split shots

How many have noticed that the newer split shots are an extra hard a you can’t hardly bite them closed.
My area used to sell water gremlin brand they were soft. These newer ones are maybe babbet or tin. And you have to use pliers to close them and with light line you can crimp and weaken the line.

Definitely not like the old ones for sure.
Course, out here in California you can't buy lead split shot anymore. Do they even produce it anymore?

Not true Saw, brought lead split shot the other day at Wal-Mart and Bass Pro has them also

Even soft lead isn't safe to bite Mike, don't ask me how I know
