My opinion, for what it is worth, is that you already have enough rod/reel combinations for the types of fish you wish to target. Use the baitcasting outfit for Northern Pike and Muskies and your fly rod/reel combos for bass and Walleye. Just change your "baits" to what works best in the area you intend to fish.

It has been my experience that LMB are the easiest to fool with artificial baits of all kinds. I also agree that LMB, pound for pound (up to about 5 pounds) are the best fighters when hooked. Above 5 pounds I would have to say that Brown Trout are much better fighters than LMB.

If you report your small pond the your local game and fish people, you might get a surprise. Frequently the folks that set size and creel limits are not aware of the problem you mention, but when notified they will check out the location and if necessary change limits accordingly.

I don't know why, but tippet material is the only "leader" that will turn the fly over properly.

Soft plastics. Worms and lizards worked very slow (when you think you are going slow, cut your speed to a quarter and that might be just right, works great in Otay lake in Chula Vista, CA.

I like to start out with 1 lb. of flour. Add 2 tablespoons of ground black pepper and 3 tablespoons of garlic powder. Mix these together thoroughly. In a separate pan, mix/beat enough eggs to coat your fish. Dip the fish fillets in the eggs, then in the flour mixture, be certain that the fillets are completely coated. Place in a frying pan of HOT bacon grease. Cook until golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes per side if the fillets are 1 inch thick, and serve.
