Fartbox Puncher 9k for flipping crankbaits is good with the right bearings.

Ceilinglight Couchpartmaybe LxctLCD 1.9 Is ultra light.

The 2xCat with pawceilingwall 3k with blanketpillow line for sockfooting is not comparable.

1. I've better success avoiding backlashes with braid. I attribute it to its limpness. FC and Mono have memory that causes them to un-spool themselves when slack.
2. I agree. Use braid and if worried about visibility, add FC or Mono leader. I prefer FC.
3. I use the FG knot.

So I wanted to get into fly fishing. I was at a local yard sale and bought a fly rod and reel. Only thing is, I don’t know how to put all of the stuff on the reel. If I take it to bass pro, will they do it for me? I’d go to a fly shop but bass pro is closer. Thanks in advance

The Bass Pro shops I’ve been in have full service including advice. So yes, Bass Pro can help you.

When I lived in Alaska, I had an Outcast Fishcat. It was great for small lakes that are found throughout the state. Of course we’re talking about extremely cold water so my neoprenes were essential. When the urge came, I headed for shore. When tubing in South Dakota with warmer water I was able to wear my zipper front waders and still wasn’t able to relieve myself without going ashore.

The old man wasn't able to return home with his marlin - sharks devoured it on his voyage back. Hemingway's last novel to be published during his lifetime and a huge contribution to his receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature. Remember the movie?

That movie contributed more to my wanting to fish than anything else I can remember.

Some good advice from others. When I carried my canoe I always carried it upside down. The shape of the hull will do just like it does in water. Right side up and the canoe will lift up. Upside down and the air pressure will push it down. Not sure if a kayak responds the same way.
Regardless, enjoy your trip and catch lots of fish.

Because it’s easier to tie than an FG.
FG is smaller diameter and my opinion much stronger but for me it’s very difficult to tie in driveway and darned near impossible in a rocking boat in the wind

Ok. I have no problem with the FG on a boat but I’m talking larger sizes. I suppose with 20# braid it could be a challenge.
Thanks
