Sooo, are you breading or battering your filets or just putting them in “naked”. My bride is old school, loves her cast iron skillet!

Switching mechanics at this point is troublesome. It’s the shop that takes in watercraft, winterizes them, shrink wraps them, stores them over winter, and then preps them to be water ready in the spring. So the dude has his toon as we speak. My buddy addressed his issues last fall when he handed the boat off. Now as opener is this weekend, the shop is being difficult! Because they’re overwhelmed getting boats out and doesn’t seem to have the “time” to get into it! Only had it for 6 months! Dave was calling him this AM. Haven’t spoken to him today.
Very much appreciate y’all providing much needed advise! I’ll keep you posted as to what happens!

Thanks folks for all your help. After he gets it fired up it runs fine. After it sits for like an hour or so....same issue!
Leads me to believe, check valve/fuel line issue. Those items are relatively inexpensive fix. He’s gonna tell the guy to replace from tank to motor. Hopefully we win! Thanks again!

Relayed all your suggestions to my buddy. He’s gonna ask the dude to replace the fuel line inc bulb, from motor to tank. If it works then the mechanic is an idiot.... and you all deserve a tip!!! So, tip one back in anticipation of success! He’s been struggling with this since last year!!

Check the fly wheel key. It may be semi- sheared. Which would put the unit out of timing.

Thank you Sir! All info shall be passed along. He’s very frustrated (mostly with an unsympathetic mechanic).
Getting his boat to someone else is problematic. Things here in central Minn. are just getting going, and with his bride being ill, he’d like to get her out on the water! So, thanks again for your suggestions!

A buddy of mine is having trouble with his 70hp Honda 4 stroke. He has to pump the build relentlessly every time he wants to go. It’s on his pontoon, and he has to push the toon off the left to get at it. His “mechanic” has not been helpful. Any thoughts out there?

You could try these lakes in Scott County, near Prior Lake. Fish Lake, Cedar Lake, Cleary Lake, Lake O’Dowd. Avoid Prior and Spring, too many power boats for kayaking!

I agree with Rockhound! You will want to do a search for resorts on these lakes. So many of the cool resorts of yesteryear have gone “seasonal” and keep their boats for their seasonal guests. Start your research early and book it when you can. We are winding down on this COVID thing but last year you couldn’t find a rental for love nor money!!

Thomer here. New to site. Lake Mary, Alexandria, Mn. Water temp about 50 degrees. Locals say look to about 60 degrees and find them along the weed lines in the shallows. I’ll be looking soon!!
