Same in Idaho. If fish are not purchased by legal means and are just captured and released in a private pond they don’t become privately owned fish. They were stolen from public waters. That’s called illegal possession here in Idaho. I don’t know about anywhere else outside of Washington, Oregon, Montana and Wyoming. That law applies in those states. Just call the local authorities and they can give you the current laws regarding these kinds of things in your area. If a wild game animal crosses my property and I shoot it out of season or without an appropriate license and tag for my area I’m in violation of the game laws of my state. It’s not mine, I didn’t buy it and there’s no trespass charges against wild animals here. It’s my responsibility to fence it out here as in most states.

All of the same applies in Iowa.

What about throwing out corn for deer and shooting him when he comes to eat it? Which I also think is cheating but is somehow acceptable by the hunting community.

Not accepted by all in the hunting community if it’s not fair chase you should not be called a hunter more like a harvester.. not much challenge there anyone who considers themselves a hunter should feel that baiting is unethical..

This is a crazy time we live in. Hopefully, this will soon end and we can get back to normal. Whatever normal is. I like the old days when we had plenty and thought this would never end. Sad to say the good days or over. It sounds like a country song.

Sad to say I think you might be right or at least until they find some kind of vaccine for this mess and the phones and internet and drugs..

I think you help them try to do it whichever way they desire.. if it’s something they want to do or try encourage it there is not a right or wrong way to fish.. some of my best days came on a stick and string:-)

Baitcasters are for baby girls who’s daddy’s haven’t taught them how to catch walleyes yet.. lol love bass fishing but baitcasters are for the birds or for trolling...which not many baitcaster fishermen or fisherwomen use them for.. I think a lot of people think there somewhat of a status symbol? Keep it that way and your gigantic tackle bag with junk.. jigs and minnow or jig and crawler maybe a few plastics will do a good angler more than they could ask for... #spinforlife
