I did all the usuals, mowing lawns. Raking leaves. Didn't get a lot of snow here in the Willamette valley Oregon so there wasn't a lot to shovel. In the summer what we did have was nearby raspberry, strawberry, marionberry and other varieties that we would pick and get paid a few cents per pound. It was nice that they were close enough. I could ride my bike there in the morning. Make a good $15 to $20 per day for 6 to 10 hours of work and ride my way home.

Welcome to the stage! Iguana1951. I would highly recommend going to myodfw.com and then go to fishing reports. It's broken down by region so you can get all the trout stocking information and local warm water fisheries (Bass, crappie, bluegill, perch etc) for all the local fishing areas near you. Let us know how you do and post pictures. Good luck in tight lines from a fellow Oregonian in Salem.

Welcome guitarzan. I too am a Kaiser resident and do a fair amount of trout fishing when I can get out, which hasn't been much lately. I do enjoy River fishing the North santiam above Detroit in the idana area. Also the Brieghtenbush River above Detroit. I am trying to research and look into places to chase sea run cutthroats in the coastal rivers. Maybe we could share info. Tight lines and hope to see you on the lakes and rivers.

Live here in Salem, Oregon (Capital City). Spend a lot of my time in the Tillamook area, both fishing hunting and just relaxing and enjoying. I've been to that specific campground more than once. Dad moved us to Oregon from California in 1975 and I've been in love with it ever since. There's no way in hell you'll ever get me out of the beautiful rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. The Roosevelt elk, the blacktail deer, the black bear and all the other wildlife we have is almost incomparable, not to include the incredible fishing.

I have had his complete box set for many years. Nothing brings a smile to my face like rereading those books and hearing his stories. A true storyteller at heart.

Applegate was stocked last week with 10,000 rainbow trout. Apparently there will be no stocking of trophy truck this year but water levels are high and fishing is expected to be very good

Go to myodfw.com fishing reports and learn all you need. Updated every Thursday. Current report is that TenMile lake water temperatures are reaching close to 60° in the shallow areas and that bass are starting to transition into their spawning areas.

Advice from my father....... it's not the catching, it's the time spent with family and friends. It's the getting out of town and enjoying nature in all its Glory and learning to just "let it go if only for a few hours".

Boat's not ready to go anywhere yet and I'm looking to get in on some spring Chinook. Does anybody have any advice on where a person can go plunking in either the nestucca River or on the Willamette River? Equipment and technique advice would be greatly appreciated. Tight lines everyone
