The golden state of California is loooooooong gone! Its more like the #@$%&* state and probably will never recover. California fish and has been changed to cal wildlife. To them Climate change is more important than catching any fish. But please buy a fishing license they need the money! I won't buy a ca license or fish here. I go out of state for all my fishing. All in my opinion.
Sounds like a good plan why support the ignorance plenty of fish elsewhere
Wow mark the shark! A little testy! YUUUUP
Thanks for bringing us back on topic here. Much appreciated!
I would save pennies all year if I had to for a license here for the privilege of fishing the beautiful lakes streams and rivers around here. I agree with Marktheshark. Let's go fishing!. If you can afford to spend hundreds to go out of state every time you fish, right on! I go every weekend for gas money and the cost of bait...
Suck it up Butter Cups, still a better buy then your gas out there !!

Why is California always at the fore front of all the rest of the states with the price of a fishing license? But the fisherman get less. Some one in the know explain this to me please. Fished Utah,Arizona,Wyoming and thier out of state licenses were cheaper than a California license by a lot
Non Resident 1 year license- Montana $100+$10 conservation fee, Utah $94, Az $55, Wyoming $102.
Resident 1 year license- Ca $58.
Additional Info for California for 12 month fishing licenses: Resident- $58.58; Resident with salt water added- $65.32; Resident with “second rod privilege” (applies only to fresh water)- $83.68; Resident “low income” senior- $9.01; Resident “low-income Native American”- Free
Non-resident fresh water 12 month license- $158.25; 10-day license- $58.58; 2-day license- $29.42
(Please be appreciative of these higher prices in order to fish the “golden waters” of California)
California is a...challenging place to live I'm sure we would all agree, but, at least here in far Norcal, I can only be grateful for the opportunity to get away from the boss and wife, out in the woods, so I can be mean to some fish. $58 is a small price to pay for my sanity. Sorry fish.
Think I'll go to upper Burney creek in the morning and get myself ready for the coming week.

whatabout saltwater/ is it regulated [prolly a dumb question]
Exactly! Back when the CaF&G had us buying their $3 striper stamp n we fishermen fought it because Ca doesn't hv a striper hatchery which the rules say would be the basis of such b/s. Just because you live here, you dnt hv to accept everything the state tries to lay on you as a price for existing.
