I usually just drift yarn. You just have to figure out the color that day. It seems when the salmon hit the river they are stubborn. Work the hell out of it.

Hmmm, learn something new everyday. First time hearing about this FF technique. Wondering if it's translatable to baitcasting , say with a weightless presentation or a topwater.🤔🤔🤔🎣🎣🎣

Fort Casey Beach and the other beach south of the ferry launch. Don't see how yarn from shore would work at all . Use pink 2 to 3oz buzz bomb with siwash. It's sight fishing, when a school comes by they will be jumping out of the water 30 feet + from shore.

Pretty sure drifting yarn tip is for fishing the rivers, not fishing in the ocean from the beach.

I will smoke them. Need to catch about 4 more to fill the smoker.

Let me know when they're done. I'll be right over with cold slaw and drinks!

Hi Mustang. Not sure if your post is in response to my earlier baitcasting query but I do so on freshwater rivers and streams (as well as lakes and ponds but obviously a "drift" technique wouldn't work there).

67 Mustang, Is the boat ramp at Fort Casey up and running yet? I was there last spring and it looked like it was being remodeled. The reason I am asking is that my fishing buddy is 80 with bad knees. No beach fishing for him. Thanks

Thank you for the info on drifting yarn. Similar to how people do it on the rivers?
X foot long leader off a three way swivel with the bottom swivel to a weight and the other swivel to main line?

What about spoons and other lures like buzz bombs?

Thank you.

Cool.

I see on the first picture posted there is a pink spoon hence the confusion regard drifting yarn in the sound.

I’m headed to deception pass state park 10/6 - 10/8 and was going to shore fish for coho and any pink that may still be around.

I’ve spoons to throw so I’ll try my luck with those.

Pink hoochies with 1/4 to 3/8 ounce jig heads. Those are killer in tidewater.
