Oh yeah. Depending on whether you are goin with or against the current and how much current there is.
But you want to go as close to 5mph as you can. You just have to pay attention to how your lure is workin by the wiggle the end of your rod has.
Stripers like a very fast troll.
I am bank fishing in Pascagoula until I redo the floor in my termite cajun

Nice goin' Chris, and Welcome to the Stage.
Fishing with bait or live bait is fun, if you have patience but you have to know where your fishing and how to fish it. I have been successful fishing with bait, night crawlers for Browns and Rainbow, Bullheads for Striped Bass but you have to research and work it. I research on line, talk to fishermen, F & G, bait shops, etc. And I move around till I find a good spot to bait fish, if fresh water, creeks and rivers, ponds and lakes. Salt water, I find decent spots that I can bait fish during the right tides. It all makes a big difference.
Presently I have a boat and love using artificial lures, lipless crankbaits, swim baits and a ton of others I am waiting to the opportunity but I cast and keep on the move looking till I find fish. When casting is done, I troll till the tides have changed and I can start casting again. I usually don't stay on the water long enough to do that but I could. I think the main thing is find a place where there are fish to catch.
