In case you look that knot up, I only do 16 wraps, not the 25-30 that they recommend. It works fine.

Thanks Fred. Familiar with the albright and have tied it in the past, but was getting slippage in my braid to fluoro connections and losing lures. I think I was only doing 8-10 wraps though. These days I go fg (w/ tension) if I'm tying the night before, or double uni the day of or on the fly.

I've never had any slippage with 16 wraps DC. I find the FG too complicated to tie unless I'm sitting in the house, and the fluoro side of a uni to uni too thick to pass freely through small guides. Just my opinion of course.

Fishing still fairly slow in our local lakes. Went to Skinner this morning with Rick. On the water at 6:30 and had my first hook up at 6:45. Jumped once and after about a minute the line broke. Probably frayed from a previous trip. Was a decent fish in the 3-4 lb range. Four cast later with different pole, I hook a nice fish and manage to land it, and it is a decent 3.52 lb LMB. Figure this is a great start to the day. Rest of the morning just a couple of dinks. Buddy got skunked. Off the water at 10am before it got really hot.

Thx Bobby, Skinner is about 90% reeds along the shoreline so most all the LMB are caught there and the rest are drop shotting the points. The lake contains catfish, stripers, bluegill, carp and trout after plants. I usually only target the LMB's.

Definitely a good morning for you. Sorry your buddy got the skunk. I'm waiting on this algae. You think DVL and parris will clean up this week- or get better?

OBG, nice fish, that water looks inviting . What are you using a long the reeds? Breaking off is always frustrating and off course it always seems to be on a nice fish. At least you got to see the beast before it took the hardware. I've had two break offs this year (40#braid) direct tie with Palamar . Didn't get to see the fish ," I think they owe us that much?". Most likely a old knot sometimes unavoidable .
It's nice you got into them right off the get go , keeps the spirits up. Sorry Rick didn't have good fortune. Hopefully you drive a truck so he could ride in the bed? 🦨🦨. I know personally when I take someone with me I'd rather see them catch instead of myself just so they have a good time. Memories of a skunk trip are far less vivid than trips with 3&1/2#ers in photos and in the end that's really all that's left at the end of the day. Keep on "Rippin' Lips" and posting those great pics.πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

Perris is clean now so that should be alright. Not sure about DVL, but suspect it is pretty heavy there. Good Luck

Thanks Andy, water is now 82* and really thought the fish would be deeper. Was nice to get the two early hookups in tight. Tried drop shots in some of my better holes but no players. I agree, always love to see my bud and grandkids catch.
