Those poor little creatures 🤔

Horses in general have it made in this country.
Lucky this country runs on beef bacon n fried chicken 👍

Thinking about it ahorse is a valuable animal. Transportation, farming, in the past courting…..There is a story from the White Mountains in NH where a Man got stranded in the winter in the 1800s, realized he was going to freeze to death, so he cut his horse open and crawled inside for the night and survived.

I’m in Italy as we speak. I’m not sure about other countries in Europe but in Italy horse meat is not allowed in any salami that is processed and manufactured within the country to be sold to the public. It is very common though in many other forms of meat and some consider it a delicacy, but it is highly regulated when it comes to salami. The region of Puglia is will known throughout Italy for its exquisite horse meat. Italy is the number one importer and consumer of horse meat in all of Europe. My Nonno would make his own sausage with horse meat. There is even a company in Italy that offers tours specifically catering to horse meat eateries. Saddle up and enjoy!!!!

Right! I’ll take the horse……… which begs the question did they have horses and did they eat them first?

Horse meat is bright red and is served throughout Europe. I have found it to be quite tasty. Sweeter and usually leaner than beef.

My brother is headed to Europe today. I was going to warn him but nah….I’d rather ask him about it when he gets home. 😁

The taste is like a cross between beef and venison, from my recollection.

I’ve had buffalo which I found to be not sweet at all. Somewhat bitter.

Funny my father was a picky eater but had horse steak and said that was the best steak he ever had. Didn’t know it was horse lol. My sister in-law is a chicken cutlet eater, I had Hungarian salami and she said that was the best salami she ever had. Months later I told her it was donkey. Lmao
