Again I must smile when I think of hotheads shooting jerks and going to jail. A win ,win. Even if it is totally wrong and definitely a politically incorrect thought. To keep this fishing, that would reduce the pressure on the fish, the boat ramps and the parking. Again, I am joking, but food for thought.

bapabear, we think the same way that would reduce the problem but I don't want to happen be in the middle of them when it happens πŸ˜‚ all jokes aside every one has the right to have a gun, I think it should be mandatory for when you turn 18 you should have to go to Boot camp for at least one year and paid for it and issued a rifle to keep after you finishπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ then at least you would have a good work experience and know how to handle guns. There again just my opinion

I was raised with a gun in my hand, but here in Florida not many people wants to teach the kids how to use a gun and that's the problem when they find Dad's gun they don't know how to handle it and end up killing them self or someone else... that's what I'm saying to carry nowadays they should have to take a class to know how to use it, that's just my opinion πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

That is tough to argue with. It is good common sense.

I usually carry an extra spinning rod with me in my jon boat, rigged up with an old daredevil that I can cast quite a long way. When I see that's going to happen, I will launch that lure right at them. Usually gets their attention weather I hit them or not.

I am only part way with you. I believe the 2 year draft for both sexes should be reinstated. College deferral OK, but deferral, not except. After standard military basic, each individual should have a choice between military MOS or civil MOS much like the CC's or militarized in country peace corp. Both groups would then appreciate their freedom, learn responsibility, learn to respect the right of others, grow up, and contribute to the general welfare of the country. One group would continue the standing army while the other group would be working on the countries infrastructure. Just food for thought.

Not a bad idea. I think some country like Israel or Ukrain has a program like that. That creates an armed citizenry

I believe that could get you into jail today, not to mention be the butt end of a major law suit. That is just the way it is. That would be assault. If you hit the person and injured him/her in any way, that would be assault and battery.

bapabear, you said just what I was trying to say but you said it like it should have been said, this country has gotten away from hard work and training that you need to know how to do, I'v been a electrician all my life and can do anything that needs to be done here on the place from A/C work to Plumbing and Roofing because I was raised to work I don't know how people are paying for all of their repairs when they call a contractor, I am about to old and disabled to do alot of work outside of my stuff but still work more than the younger generation today, I'm even taking about my grandkids there all about the phone thing πŸ˜‚so thanks for your post πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

FLA has had a carry law on the books for years, just because they do away with paying for a permit, doesn't mean anything is going to change. I have my card here in Tennessee which allows me to travel to other states we have reciprocity with. We also have Constitutional Carry you that you don't have to pay for if you only want to carry within the state. You are making an assumption about the people there in Florida. As for the boating part of this, here in Tennessee we had our law amended so that we can carry on a boat several years ago. Still no issues and none of the "end of life as we know it" issues we were told was going to happen. Same things were said up in Ohio who, like FLA had a carry permit system for years. When they went to Constitutional Carry, you would have thought someone was going to murder puppies in the streets the way the Left carried on. The law went into effect a year ago and no issues.

Sad to say but I have notice the younger people (below 50) are mostly jerks not only on the water but at the boat ramp also.

I totally agree with your post. This country really needs this to happen.

No question we should consider other fishermen when running a boat under power but I would rather have someone blow by me at full throttle than slow down and throw a huge wake trying to be nice . I am more concerned about wake than speed .
My boat at 50 mph throws a much smaller wake than it does a 20 mph .

That is true of many boats. Especially in rivers, the boats also have to stay in the deep channel which is often close to the bank. Channels are often favorite bank fisherman's spots. Keep in mind curtesy goes both ways. Here in the Nooksack, a fisherman can cast all the way across many parts of the river. In that case, I have to agree with Skbrownie. Keep the boat on step and keep the wake down. Slowing down increases a wake unless the boat is nearly at dead slow. That can not be done in a fast river. Generally speaking, the more water you plow, the bigger the wake.
