The water was the color of my coffee (with cream &sugar). I only ran about 1.25 miles north towards the Shepawg dam and the current was running 1.8-2.0 mph, still 2 miles from the dam. I started trying to fish there and drifted south. Even with my winged helpers, nothing but nibblers, and 2 decent bites that immediately broke off in rocks and wood. I was moving past the cover too fast and couldn't get them out. Batting zero, until I got down to JMK's house, where I caught the first Smallmouth, and the only decent one at that. I continued about 3/4of a mile past the ramp and only managed 2 dink Smallmouth, and 1small Rocky.
None of my bright colors were working at all, nor was a crankbait, or a popper. I missed 2 on a Paca Craw, and caught the 4 on a June Bug Dinger. Between the current and muddy water, you basically had to hit them in the head with the bait so they could find it. Better than a Skunk, but again, not by much.

Thanks for sharing, Fred, at least you were on the water getting your line wet, and you caught fish. Not a bad day.

Thanks Leo. Better than sitting in the recliner all day.

You and I share the same coffee recipe, sugar and cream. It looks just like your picture. You caught some and knew you were going into a tough enviroment. Good for you.

Fred, at first glance this pic looked like something from the movie Jaws. As in what is moving that marker.

So glad you did not get skunked. When I saw you were coming here it was too late to warn you. Lake looked like mud and the current really moving toward Derby. That is a picture of my house. I watch many fish out in front no one besides the eagles seem to catch any, so you have amazing skills. Better luck tonight. 👍🎣

Thanks Ed. Unfortunately I've had to change to Splenda, to lower my sugar intake.
