Looking to change from my current Lowrance unit (Hook 9 ?).
The Lowrance seems to freeze a lot and is (for me) overly complicated.
I fish inland lakes, mostly trolling for trout, Kokanee, etc.
Appreciate any input.
Thanks

I had a Lowrance 7 hook for about 3-4 years and it is complicated. Bought a Garmin 9sv Striker a couple years ago and what a difference. So much easier to use and I would highly recommend it. Think it was around $699.

I had to get rid of my Lowrance for the same reasons. I got a Garmin 93. Really like it, easier to use and all the features are nice. Got it on sale too, so even better.

It's a easy look up on Amazon and you can check out all the different variations of the 93.

I just got around to giving you my thoughts.
I am not computer friendly but like my Garman units. Have a 9 inch touchscreen and 7 inch not touch screen.
I have nothing but good things to say about Garman support 1-800-800-0872. Have set in the garage in the boat and sat on the lake and they worked me through my problem. Sometimes 3-5 minutes and as long as 20 minutes

Got rid of my Lowrance and installed a new Simrad. Best system on the market, in my opinion. Great definition and easy to program! Did my research. Number one rated system for commercial and professional fishermen. Remember, lowrance moved their manufacturing operations to Mexico two years ago laying off two hundred workers in their US plant. You get what u pay for!

I figured out the store display Garmin right away, but bought a Helix 7 instead as it went on sale. It does everything fine, but there’s too many required button presses. I don’t get out much so I have to relearn it often. I’ll buy a Garmin if I ever need to replace the Helix.

Just bought a ECHOMAP UHD 93sv Chartpotter/Fishfinder Combo with GT56 Transducer and US LakeVu g3 Inland Charts but haven't installed yet. Will be when I get some time. I have a Lowrance Hook 5 and it works great! I just wanted to bigger screen and a few more bells & whistles. It was on sale at Marine West with additional "card" with West Coast Fishing info. It was a super deal and with the additional card I couldn't resist. I did a lot of research and this is a pretty nice set up and there are more options to add to it if you side view, etc.

Now just have to save for 24 volt system and new saltwater trolling motor with spot lock, etc.

Just installed tthe new MinKota riptide saltwater water trolling motor on my boat. Great unit. Love the spot lock and the remote control! Can sit and tie lines and change lures and don’t have to sit up front controlling the the motor with the foot pedal!

Is yours a 12 Volt, 55 lbs? Is that enough power to hold you in the tidal water like Petaluma or Napa River. I wanted that but had some doubts since getting stuck a couple times in mud flats. I pulled motor up to power out but 45 lb Edge (Minn Kota) wasn't enough juice to beat tide, needed manual help.

Mine is a 55lb thrust motor. Works great on the lakes, but last time on the Petaluma river with some wind and an out going tide it was hard to hold the boat in our spots. I have a 12 volt system with an Optima deep cycle battery that’s holds a great charge and with ample running voltage. But if it was me, I would consider a 24 volt unit with 80 lbs of thrust to fish both the Petaluma and Napa rivers. My 55lb thrust works great in calm waters and lakes, but like I said, in the the rivers with strong tidal movement it was not want I would prefer.
