Bodies Fished: Spectacle Pond (Littleton Ma)
Knopps Pond/Lost Lake (Groton Ma)
Spec Pond:
5:30am - 10:30am
Water Temp: 73f
# of Bass = 16
Baits Used: Magnum Trick Worm
5” and 3” Bush Pig, weighted and free fall. Colors used, Blood and P-seed.
Bass were fresh off the beds with fry clouds clinging to the emerging vegetation. Most Bass were under 2 lbs, With the largest at 2.8
Scattered bite from water lilies to open water. Fish were active with larger arcs found on graph suspended in deeper H20. Not certain but because of the empty beds and hatch, I believe those arcs are exhausted females recovering from the spawn stress.
Knopps Pond/Lost Lake
11:30am - 4:30pm
Water Temp: 74f
# of Bass = 10
Baits Used: 3” Hellimite and two tailed Arkie jig. Colors used, black with blue fleck and root beer
Again, the (bass) beds were empty with smaller males feeding. All fish were less than average but a great sign with the spawn being done with.. Just a matter of time before those bigger females have no choice but to search and destroy everything in its path. The season is just about to erupt here in Central Mass for Big Bass.. Very Exciting!!

Thanks for the thorough report!
Post spawn LMB will have the feed bag on soon - have fun!
Just like the big bruisers who are beat up after fanning their rocky beds, you’ve got all the “de-tails”…

That’s what I’ve been waiting for Salty………..last couple weeks there’s been a ton of good size pickerel with some 1.5 lb bass mixed in……I’m ready for some lunkers here in central Ma………thanx for the info …appreciate it .
Thanks Cuz! Yes it post spawn for most muddy/stained bodies we target here in the heart of Massachusetts..Now dealing with a double whammy but two birds with one stone.. with the females recovering and the low pressure rolling through this weekend into next week, I think the second week of June will ignite a decent bite. Good luck my friend!
