Hi! I'm a Survivor of a deadly wildfire & before the fire I fished everyday in the SF Bay Area. My leg was badly burned during my escape from the fire & I ended up losing my leg & I'm in a wheelchair now. It's been 5 years since I fished & I want to get back into it again. I do saltwater & freshwater. And I'm in Sacramento now. I need some suggestions of places in Sac or close to Sac that I can get to in a wheelchair. Ive reasearched where all the wheelchair accessible fishing docks are around here but I'm looking for places that have spots I can roll up to & fish. So like flat grounds or concrete, or even a steep drop leading to the waters edge that I can launch a line out. (Not to brag but I can cast like you wouldn't believe).
Thank you for any suggestions

For saltwater access, check out:
https://www.pierfishing.com/category/piers/san-francisco-bay-area/As far as I know all of the piers listed are wheelchair accessible. Pt Pinole used to let me drive in behind the shuttle but since they suspended the shuttle during COVID-19, I don't know what the deal is--you'll need to call the park office.
If you're going with a partner who can scale some rip rap, then check out my previous post. All of the spots are tailgate fishable except when it says something about a hike.
https://www.fishingstage.com/t-65459-1.htmlIf you're going solo, then I would recommend the following:
Fishing pier at Montezuma Slough boat ramp.
Fishing pier at the Red Barn (Montezuma Slough) -- closed for repair -- scheduled to be open late summer
Fishing pier at Isleton -- currently closed due to storm debris -- call a local bait shop (ask about the elevator too)
Fishing pier at Rio Vista
Boat Ramp at Barge Canal Access (off of Jefferson)
PM me if you have questions.

Oh I know all about pier fishing. I actually have ran a very popular Facebook group called "California Pier Fishing" which I started years ago when I lived in the Bay Area. The groups still going strong too. However I had to move & ended up in Sacramento so I'm looking for something local.
