Gizzards are essentially the chicken's stomach. They swallow little pebbles and grains of sand that lodge in there to help break down whatever they eat.

With all of the things that taste like chicken, why isn't eggs one of them?
Just something to think about.

Ever been to the PI/. Ever eat balut?

And all you liver knockers. Apparently you've never had well prepared dirty rice?

Yes indeed. Not sure if it's Cajun or creole. I'm guessing cajun because according to my ol shipmate who introduced me to the word and himself as a "coonass", creole has tomatoes, cajun never.

Lol, balut is the best of both worlds since technically it's still an egg but inside is the embryo with feathers and everything! Had it once on a dare, but not a fan. Chased it down real quick with a San Miguel.

Oh man, I love dirty rice! My Mom used to make the dirtiest dirty rice ever. She put in a lot more gizzards, hearts and livers than the recipe called for. I was disappointed when I had dirty rice in a restaurant, it was basically a rice dish with a little bit of liver chips.

I like fried hearts.

I never knew chicken had any part besides broth til I went in the army. After I learned of the other parts I quickly became a breast man. I love gizards & livers, fresh, not frozen & not fried til they are crispy critters. No heart, I'm not eating a fuel pump even though I love the filter. I also love chicken noodles soup. Take care Oz.

Howdy Oz. Sadly the answer to your fishing question is "no". I've caught a couple messes of fish but I've been tied up settling my parents estate for the last month. I was the administrator & I had to make numerous trips across the state to talk with property buyers, bankers & all that HS. Anyway, I sent out the final checks to my brother & sister last week so next week I can get back on the water. I've missed the crappie spawn but my real favorite will start with the full moon in May. The bluegill spawn. I have my 10 ft inflatable pontoon ready to go. Had to buy a new battery. Boy, has that little artifact gone up in price! I was going through Oklahoma City couple weeks ago & stopped at a tackle store & bought myself a new Shimamo Stradic 1000 hgfl. Way too nice a reel for the likes of me but it should be a great bluegill reel. Can't wait to get into those bluegill beds. Been put onto a 1200 acre lake SE of here that's supposed to be fantastic bluegill fishing. Take care Oz & have a great weekend.
