never tried anchovies. maybe if you put them on a pizza next to a couple of Hamiltons?
The best way to rig up anchovies for me to bite is to put them on a pizza. There is only 1 place in the county that makes a hand tossed, pesto sauce, anchovie.and goat cheese pizza. That's my favorite. And best of all, I don't have to share it.
Commander Bell out
I had pizza too. Sorry our answers are worthless Andy.

Is Bill Williams a stripper club?😂😂 Just kidding. Not familiar with your area. We use a sliding sinker 4ft leader and filet or cut anchovies when STRIPER fishing.

I've never fished Bill W. but I have fished Lake Mead with anchovies. We cut about a 1/4 or 1/3 of the anchovy, with the head; off. Then thread the rest, with the tail, onto the hook. For some reason the head ends don't work. I have tried the head end before, and never got a bite on anything but the big shad that are in Mead.
Always the great debate: head or tail?
There are strippers, and then there are stripers. It seems to cost a lot of money for strippers, not as much for stripers, unless you have to go see your doctor after.

Carolina rig try different lengths for leader . With chovies I only use the center piece with guts in them. If big chovies you can get two pieces cut heads and tails off and use for chum chum is your friend fishing Havasu.

At my age I would be happy to use either one
I'm not sure you'll attract any Strippers with Anchovies but Stripers now is a different thing. At Lake Pleasant in AZ and anywhere in northern CA, just cut big chunks and put it on a hook. Preferably in a drop shot style rig.
Guess I had a little spelling Issue LOL
STRIPPERS OR STRIPER
WHAT TO DO!
It dumps into Lake Havasu Az
