Nice fish. Somebody is going to eat good tonight.
That's a big one! I know they pull like the devil, so I'm sure you had a good workout reeling that one to the net!

That's a really nice cat, thanks for sharing ๐
Nice cat, and a beautiful day for catching at a reservoir that I haven't fished since '82 or '83. Tuttle was always a good fishing trip destination when I lived in Kansas, your post brought up some good memories, thanks.
Now tell me how it went for your wife, wearing that Jayhawks sweatshirt so close to nearby "Wildcat Country"....hehehe...yeah, I see that goofy bird, peeking out behind the fish !
Seriously, my condolences to both KU and KSU. Was hoping for both the Sunflower State boys to go further in March Madness, but it was not to be this year.
Despite the fact that I moved to Oregon 39 years ago, I still root for the Chiefs, the Jayhawks and "occasionally" for the 'Cats...have many relatives that are KSU grads...great(?) topic for family reunion chatter, but for me...."Rock Chalk" forever !

Nice fish Jose! Beautiful pic and day!
Thank you for the nice comments! My husband and I planned on spending our retirement traveling and fishing. Hunting and fishing have been a huge part of our 40 years together, along with our 4 grown kids and their families. We lost him 2 years ago to a massive heart attack. I carry him with me and I have many fishing buddies that keep me fishing, including a trip to Astoria to fish salmon on the Columbian and into the ocean. I absolutely loved it. As for the chicken hawk on my sweatshirt... I was heading out to burn pastures after fishing and didn't want to ruin my good clothes, hahaha. I agree with the bracket play comments and would have liked to see one of the teams make it but, oh well. It's just a game and it's not like someone stole my fishing pole or something awful like that!, right?! Best wishes and full live wells to ya!
Burning pastures in the Flint Hills...talk about "Kansas memories". Growing up in Emporia (and still own pastures in Greenwood County), I do kinda miss that yearly (or nowadays...2-3yrs...we got smarter) task.
Sturdy rake and a 5gal bucket, half-full with water, w/ a burlap sack...tools of the trade for cattlemen (and obviously "cattlewomen"...lol) this time of year.
And besides the nighttime glow that is so marvelous while burning, the anticipation of, and beauty of, a fine stand of Big Bluestem coming back with that gorgeous green replacing the blackened hills...aaaah, you ALMOST make me wish I were back there.
Knowing where you are fishing, I guess I shoulda known that you regard the "red and blue chicken hawk" sweatshirt as "work clothes", rather than homage to "your team"....hehehe.
You are forgiven.
