Well guys. I was suppose to be in Tahoe takin care of things up there but more weather was predicted for early next week. Didn't think it was advisable to go up there with all the rain or snow in the forecast.
Sooo, Ben and I are goin out on the Napa tomorrow morning. Has been over a month since we've been out.
Even if we don't catch any I'm stoked to be getting on the water.
If we catch any I'll take a couple pics.

Maybe we can even invite a few to stay for dinner.
Well guys. I was suppose to be in Tahoe takin care... (show quote)

Have fun, Steve and Ben!!!

Was not a bad day! We fished all our normal spots twice and trolled for miles upper, lower and sloughs. Water was muddy, visibility was 3 to 4 inches and with all the rain, the river stayed full on low tide and even higher on high tide. Had never seen that on the Napa River before but to be honest with all the water, it makes sense. Normal tides probably won't be happening till the rains calm down and the dams cut back on there releases. Was a trip!!!

Still was a nice day to go out and hang with a buddy!!! Was anxious just to get out and run the boat, it seemed like months...lol!

Glad to hear you two got out together, too bad the stripers did not co-operate. Nice to get out for the day, been long winter so far and more to come. I am in Albany Oregon visiting sister, we are going striper fishing on the lower Umqua river on April 4th! Will send pics if we get any, river quite high and lots of rain predicted next week!

I agree that high water will have less tidal changes the further upstream away from surf you are. Sounds like a relaxing day. You two will hook em and cook em again one of these days in the future.

Well, I'm really not bragging, but we usually catch fish when we go out fishin. Sometimes a lot sometimes a few. But catch fish all the same.
However, this winter has been tough on the catchin. We've gotten skunked a couple times this year.

Hey George. We didn't catch a thing. We had 1 hit trollin. Bent the rod back and line was just screamin off. By the time I got the rod out of the holder it was gone. That's the only bite we had.
I'm really hoping I'll be able to come up and see y'all at Berryessa at least for a couple of days. NoCalSteve said he is planning on bein there also.

When the rains and river settle down, we'll catch them like normal but even when conditions are not ideal, still like to get out and fish!!! Nice to go for a boat ride and drag a line.... LOL!

It's the only time we get skunked... LOL! We do alright in Spring, Summer and Fall and even early Winter but at some point, the fish need a break....

I smell Skunk in Northern California quite often. Every once in awhile I avoid driving over them on the pavement. Pee You. It is good you only have slow days in HIGH WATER or COLD SEASON.
