Sounds like we're scattered all over the state. The fish aren't safe anywhere.
Oh!! They are very safe around me.
Ok, that's how the š have been for me so far this year too. But, it's only February so I'm remaining optimistic. It's too cold to drag my old bones out in my kayak so far (we have snow on the ground this morning. The bank fishing has been really bad for everyone so far. I've seen one 15-inch trout taken from Kress lake near Longview and that's about it.
I'm in Battle Ground. If anyone heads to a lake or river in the SW area, give a holler. I don't have a boat but it would be fun to toss in a line from shore with someone else. It would be good to have someone other than my wife out-fish me.
I'll keep you in mind for sure, GJ. But I'm going to wait till the weather warms a tad. It would be fun.
Hello, Joe.
I live on Hayden Island and have not fished your river, but I have fished the Columbia from the bank at Willow Grove with some success. Last year got my PB Chinook at 28+ lbs there. There are a lot of helpful people there and plenty of shoreline. I will probably go there this week as the steelhead are still running and the first Springer was caught in the Multnomah Channel.
Tight Lines.
Thanks for the tip. I may wander up that direction to try in find a spot where I can throw in on the Washington side.

I use to fish that spot 6 or 8 years ago. My sister and BIL lived in the house thatās adjacent to the park to the west. If when you get down to the river and walk back to the west about 200 yards the river narrows down quite a bit and we use to nail the salmon and steelhead there pretty well. You can actually watch the pods coming up the river. Good luckā¦

Kalama River salmon
Thanks for the tip. The wife and I will likely give it a try. Only been to the Kalama a couple of times so it's good to have a destination to go for.

Hey, Oldie, are you talking about the Fairgrounds and Haydu Park? If so, do you know the name of the Ma n Pa store? I always like to stop at those type of stores. Thank you.
