What I do though is I separate the mouse head from the tail and slide the head on to the upper shank of the hook. I then take the tail and shorten it a bit , removing about a Quarter inch from the tail. I then slide the tail onto the tip of the hook. I think that it makes the tail move a bit more. It works for me. Just my opinion. But what ever you’re doing keep it up.I’m also a fan of of using trout juice on the mouse tails.

Hey what ever works and sounds like a good idea. They work good for me but I only float them. Have you ever try jigging or cast and reel in, I hear some people use them that way.

Yes I’ve tried both of those techniques. Always fishing from my boat though Never from shore. Have had success jigging them while slow drifting the boat with the current.Not much success casting and slow retrieving them but I haven’t tried it that much. But have had luck top line slow trolling them. So maybe casting a retrieving might work.
