I was not aware of them before. I will have to try them. Any hints or keys to their success. Thanks, I am sure your post will put a few more fish in my boat.

Yes I love to see the explosion on a top water bait, but can anyone tell me why they are so many beautiful plugs out there for sale when all the BASS see is the white bottom of them from below. I think it's to sale them to the fisherman not the bass they usually hit them for the action not the color just my opinion. My one and only bait would be a 10" June bug worm, have caught more bass with it than anything else....šŸ˜‚

Agree pretty much completely. Many lures in my opinion are designed to attract the castor v. castee.

The only thing I can add on the frog thing is dark or light bottom. You are right. It is the bottom that the fish see.

Try the 10"-12"worm without a bullet weight and a wide mouth 4/0 hook and pull it through the lily's and grass lines and watch the explosion top water action... This is the way my wife likes to fish them, and she has pretty good luck.

I follow many pros and most believe color makes a difference. All lures arenā€™t white on the bottom. I know from personal experience a color change on a specific lure in specific conditions can make a difference. While Iā€™ll also agree when fish are biting, it doesnā€™t matter white color or lure I use. Also would say at night color is not as important as fish donā€™t see color in dark.Though I do tend to use black predominantly at night because I feel it enhances silhouette. IMHO

I think the white belly view really only applies to topwater or very shallow running baits. The color of a jig or crankbait digging along the bottom, or a suspended jerkbait or swim jig, can be very important. At least that's what I tell myself when I'm buying more stuff.

Doing well, thinking about going to Academy later and look at some rooster šŸ“ tails, bass seem to like them in the spring here, I think it's because nobody uses them here as they consider them trout baits and we don't have trout except plants during Dec to Feb. So bass don't see them and get used to them like they do other lures ?? IMHO

Glad to hear that. That's as good a reason as any.

Fred is right!! He told me about Dingers last year and BAM caught a nice bass in weedy lily pad dense water. Swim it wacky or just twitch it. The Dinger comes with a slot in the body to sink the hook in so it's very weedless. Good fishing
