Had the same thing happen to me once it was a Smallmouth thought I had a big old trout ,4lb test line. On Power bait.
I was around 1 1/2 lbs.
Use to live in orange county.
Is that Arrowhead lake ?
Have a safe year on the water and great fishing.

I remember back in day we used velveta cheese and a salmon egg at lake Chs it. Before that we made our own dough bait. We caught anything that hit bass, carp mostly trout
