Ha! Don’t let my age fool ya! Leaving the boat, flipped over, tied to a tree up off river bank! Will carry motor and battery to boat when I use it. May use dolly to transport. Will keep motor, battery, paddle, life jacket in locked store room when not in use.
Hey RR,CONGRADS ON YOUR NEW BOAT.I USE A TROLLING MOTOR & MUCH PREFER IT,TO ME ITS HEALTHER FOR THE WATER ,FISH AND WHERE I FISH THE WATER RESERVOIRS,STATE PARKS THEY ONLY ALLOW ELECTRIC TROLLERS.
Sug what ever you do, do not stand up in your 10' alum. boat. I tried that once and like to have had my Saturday night bath early.
Hi. I use a 30# thrust Minn Kota basic tiller trolling motor to position and slow troll on a 14 foot Alumacraft jon boat. It works great for me. They are only about $100 and with intermittent use .I can fish all day. Major moves are made with my outboard.
Type in Brokentooth CCM 450
Jeremy....Why ??? What does this have to do with the thread or fishing ?
Please be aware that all rivers flood at times. I would hate to hear you were caught on a flooded river in a 10’ John boat trying to get home with an electric trolling motor!
Check what the manufacturer calls for weight maximum for your boat. Remember that includes everything. You, fishing tackle bait, battery, motor, lunch and beverages. Add all that together and then decide how to power it. Don't spend a lot of money before finding out you are over loaded. Be safe, have fun and catch lots. Olddawg.
One more, I have a 19 ft Carolina skiff fiberglass and 45 or pushes it pretty good. Olddawg
The first thing to look is the current you will be fishing in.The 2nd Hingis is about the battery you plan to use .the bigger the thrust the more juice it will take. What ever you do if you are fishing by yourself (all ways) ware a life jacket. The best of luck, most men would give anything to have a wife like you.Hope this helpes.
Welcome to the forum R652.
Roger that about having a wife that likes to fish.
i Have a 55# thrust trolling motor on my Sea Eagle 10’ inflatable hooked up to a big AGM deep cycle battery. The pix you see was in Eagle Nest Lake near Angel Fire, NM. Putted all over that lake for several hours with still plenty of battery left. I also have a portable solar charger I can use that lies on top of the battery to keep it charged if necessary.
