I cribbed it from somewhere else. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but have learned how to search the Internet and I actually remember some of it, and have a lot of stuff stored in various categories/ folders to check later. Just gotta find ' em when needed, that's the tough part...

A c Another way to check for damaged rod guides : take a Q Tip and run it along the inside of the guides in a circular motion. If there is a crack or burr in there it will catch on the imperfection. It'll leave a tiny wisp of cotton in the bad spot......

Good tip, thanks

I use fluro for my leaders…i see some posting they use mono……just personal preference? Or does one fit a fishing technique better?

Mono has more stretch than Fluoro, kinda like a shock absorber. Less chance of pulling the hook, or snapping a rod tip.

Mono has a tendency to float where as flouro sinks so the leader depends on what purpose its used for hence you wouldn't want to use flouro on your topwater setup.🎣🇺🇸🙂👍
