As far as I know. A visit to the pass office will give you the answer.
I fish the surf at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia Beach and catch whiting, pompano, bluefish, black drum, red drum, Spanish mackerel, trout, etc.
I’m not familiar with that area of Sandbridge. Is there parking nearby. I don’t have a cart yet so I park and walk to any beach spots I go to.
BBNWR is just south of Sandbridge. Short walk on the trail from parking lot to the beach. I don't use a cart. Just a backpack and 2 rods.

Right now the island us closed off for some kind of construction project.
The bay island pier is gone. Try rudee inlet.
I really appreciate the info.
You're welcome. It's probably the best shore fishing spot around Virginia Beach other than the piers. And, it's free, except for parking, which isn't bad. Right now, hot for specks. Just a good fishing spot.

I'm fishing Craney Island Creek and using Mullet but haven't caught anything. I'll let you know if I do.
If you can find some live shrimp use them; I’ve heard there are redfish in some of the creeks and they will hit live shrimp. I don’t know if they are even available around here.

I to am from Norfolk (Ocean View area) & a bank fisherman. Wife & I have had a lot of luck at Chicks Beach (under the toll rd). Smith & Asalia Lake's also offer some great fishing & Chesapeake should be stocking their lake with rainbows in the next couple of weeks. Message me your contact info & I'll let you know about a few other out of the way places we go hit Video Bob
Hey Video Bob,
I’m an Ocean View boy myself and only live about 5 minutes away from the water now. I would be glad to know of other spots to fish in the area. You are the second person to mention Chic’s Beach so I’ll have to try it. My contact info is: boardhead9@gmail.com
Right now I primarily fish Rudee and Lynhaven Inlets but not having a lot of success.
