Best way to sharpen a fillet???
that is a great looking knife.
Not concerned with it floating; I only clean and fillet my catch back at home.

Mt,
That would make a great thread topic.
Depending on the blade's condition, I use one to four water whetstones from 400 to 1600 grit. Check utube for how to but be judicious.

Great looking knife. I like the style and also the handle. I buy blanks and put scales or handles on them and I have done a couple of fillet and ulu knives. My wife lived in Adack AL. for a few years and used them extensively. She still has hers.

Yes, I think a thread topic on the knives would go good with the fishing theme.
Cool! My first attempt was a also a pre-formed blade and I put the scales on. Also made an ulu knife with electrically etched wolf on one side and a polar bear on the other. But I prefer traditional style for skinning, butchering, filleting, etc. glad to know another person likes making stuff. Enjoy!
