For what it's worth, I wanted to share an idea with others who either aren't totally happy with existing fillet knife designs or simply can't afford them. So, using a cheap Harbor Freight angle grinder, a used handsaw and discarded walnut trophy plausingI managed to create my own custom fillet knife and protective sheath. Hopefully this helps inspire others. Enjoy!

Excellent work there. Do you make other knives?

I like the handle
how does it to in the filleting dept?
Thanks for the positive comments. To answer the questions, yes I'm enjoying making other design knives from used circular saw blades and using some as gifts. Re this fitting my hand, it's more comfortable than many fillet knives I've held and, along with slightly rounded instead of pointed tip, it gives me the control I've wanted. BTW, you can find how to make knived from saw blades, files, etc. on utube. I hope to see others. Thanks.
Flexible, beautiful yet sharp. Great work, it's beautiful. I'm finishing a new forge design to create knives from tractor plows, leaf springs and other already hard but durable materials. It's going to be a couple weeks before I have it completed, but I'll show some upon getting a few made. Good fishing in the meantime.

Very nice. Love that handle.
Wow That's nice work. Can't wait to see more.
The front will cut, the back will bite. But will it float?
