I picked one out on Amazon. Just type in flash light for ball cap. I got the rechargeable ones. No batteries needed.
Forgot to mention that the ball cap type can also clip on to a PFD or a shirt at chest level also.
Hello George, I like to use a head light with several different colors of light. You click from white to green to black, to red. I also use fluorescent line at night which shows up well with a blacklight.

Check the NEBO brand, they are big in the hitech-camping-hiking world. Models with red, green and 2 brightness of white. Charge like a cell phone and can be either headband or hat clip.
Fred was absolutely right about red and green giving you the light to move in the dark without ruining your vision.(like getting to my deer stand in the dark)
Battery headlamps are heavy and clunky.
I respectfully disagree with the idea of having several inexpensive ones. Get one that you like and does the job.
We use Black Diamond headlamps at home as well as work and they've served me well for about 5 years. They are older and don't have red light, the newer units might but I haven't checked lately since these are still working well.
I’ve had a variety of head lamps over the years. The past two years I’ve been using a nexk light. It’s LED, the batteries last forever. It’s adjustable has two brightness levels and is very durable. It called EZRED. I also use it when walking my dog after dark. I highly recommend. It’s not expensive (undr $30) and you can get it on Amazon in a few days time.
