Make sure the bulb gets hard hen you pump it. They have a tendency to go bad and as in Murphy’s Law at the most inopportune moments.

Hi Andy, I’m looking for the best lures to use. I live near the Winter Park chain of lakes. I’ve never had success fishing fresh water but would love to. Can you suggest a few lures to buy? Thanks Ed

Top water frogs, soft plastic jerk shad, spinner baits, buzz baits and plastic worms. The darker the water the brighter the bait. Chartreuse and white are good colors. I throw a 3/4 oz silver Johnson Spoon with a white skirt most of the time. It gives off plenty of flash and plenty of vibration. You’ll get a lot of reaction bites by pulling it through heavy cover and lily pads. I have caught Bass anywhere from a pound and a half all the way on up to 10 lbs on a spoon.
