I found a few more today and sauté some in butter salt and mince garlic and a little Dab wister…… how ever the heck it’s spelled sauce.

I also found this online - Chicken of the woods growing on pine should be avoided at all costs as these are coniferous (not deciduous) trees that contain toxins that can become absorbed by the fungi, causing serious gastric upset in humans.

I found some today on a rotting pine and it was really pail looking. I didn’t pick it.

absolutely when I was active hunting mushrooms I carried several small sheets of black and white papers just for that

not really different species of trees have different types of enzymes. ever notice why the only thing that grows under a pine tree is Amanita Muscaria . not edible.
