Went and checked my deer Stand this morning and found some chickens just out from my stand, I will have some for supper tonight sautéed in butter.

Also known as polypurus sulfurus (not sure of the spelling) my favorite mushroom. I make a chicken tetrazzini with this…no chicken! It also makes a great snack, just cut it in strips, sauté it in olive oil with salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic powder. Or use a Cajun spice.TASTY!!

These are mostly found on dead or dying oaks.

Seen something that looked like that on our Live oak when I was a youngster. Not familiar enough with mushrooms to try any. I do like the ones from the store.

They are fairly mild flavored but I don’t know what to compare them to.
