It was a glorious day to be fishing, cool, low humidity, light breeze, water starting to cool off, 78°-80°. Notice I said fishing, and not catching. Very slow bite today, first 3 spots, nothing but nibblers. Had to hit the brush pile for my skunkbuster, and big fish of the day 1.75lbs. Devan wasn't having any luck either. I hit 4 deep spots and had a few weak hits on the dropshot, but no solid hits, probably more panfish. Marked a lot of bait schools but only rare solitary bigger fish. Couldn't get any to bite. Devan got to explore the lake a little and try out his new fishfinder. On the return pass back to the north end, I hit one more off a tree near the brush pile and Devan busted his skunk with a nice Gill. I think he really likes the lake and the speed limit, so no idiots on the water. Actually it was crowded today, maybe 8 or 10 boats.

Hi Fred I like the small quite lakes. Looks like you n Devan had a decent day brother. I've been thinking about a trailer for my pond boat. Even with ramps it's getting harder to load into truck bed. Devan is definitely bigger n younger than me 🤣. How long is his inflatable?

I'm pretty sure it's 14ft Butch. I know that CE Smith makes a trailer especially for the Bass Tender type pond boats, and it's galvanized. You could modify a utility trailer, but keep in mind that they're not made to submerge in water. Unless you get an aluminum ($) one, they would probably rust out pretty quickly. A single Jetski trailer should be easy to modify for your boat. You can probably find used ones online.

Thanks Jar. Most of the weekdays I've been there this year, I've shared the lake with only 2-5 other boats.

You are right Fred... A trailer IS a MUST HAVE... Harbor Freight has a couple of utility trailers that might fit the bill... Then I can add a Bimini for those super sunny days...

Devan I have a 9ft molded plastic pond boat. I also have been looking at the 96" trailer from harbor freight. Should have got one when they was $300 +. You're fishing with a pretty good guy 👍. Looks like he's fishing with a pretty good guy also. Good luck brother 👍🎣

Hi Dt. I thought it look fairly long. You're right a set up. You sure don't look 68 brother 😁. I'm real close to 76. Tried dragging it up the ramps one day with battery n t-motor in it when it got to the tipping point I realized that wasn't going to work. Best thing about it it will float in a few inches of water. You have a nice ride there 👍

You're right about that Fred. Boat man told me about the difference in road trailer n boat trailer seals. I missed a chance at a jet ski trailer awhile back. Lighter than all steel. Guess I'll start looking again 👍

Yeah, not only the seals Butch. Even the paint jobs, are only external, so they tend to rust easier. It seems that lots of people buy one jetski and later get one for the wife or kid and buy a tandem trailer. There's usually some used single trailers on marketplace or offer up. All you have to do is modify the bunks to fit your hull.
