Well guys I finally,,,finally found a Dr. that can help with my shingles pain. Tuesday I received two injections into my spine, ouch, that has really shut the shingles pain down. I can only hope this is not a temporary thing, there still is some pain and a bruised feeling but I'won't have to take any medication, right now, and I'm feeling more like myself than I have since March. The Doc said I may need another shot or two but he really believes he can get this taken care of. Now for weening off the Gabapenton and try and get back to real life and fishing.

I need to find that dock. Do you catch them at midnight, or can I get them early morning like 6 a.m.?
It's normally after the first few cool spells in September but soon as I find them I'll let you know and send instructions to my house. We'll see if we can get on them.

Sounds great. Hope you are up for it physically when that happens. My schedule will allow me to have Mon, Tues and Wed off but I can also arrange another day off. PM me Ivey when you know more.

When they start it won't matter much which day. Some of the cold fronts will slow them down a little but once they get under the docks, they'll be there till spring.

KD, he shot me with some sort of steroid he said he thought an epidural would work on Monday, I ask can you do it today. He was booked Monday so they double booked me for Tuesday. I'll ask when I go back for first checkup. He did say it may take another shot to take care of all the pain but I'll gladly do another to keep this pain gone. They put me under to do the procedure and that's a first, all the other Epidurals I've had it was just grin and bear it.
Hope it lasts, you've had more than enough!!!

Thatβs great to hear your shingles pain is finally subsiding, Ivey.
If I had known that steroid epidurals would work on shingles pain, I sure would have suggested it. I had those injections for years for a bad herniated disc, and they really helped get me by, by relieving the pain. I would get a series of 2-3 shots about every couple years and was able to put off surgery
(fusion) for about 10-12
years. The shots in the spine and tailbone hurt like crazy, but were definitely worth it. I wish I would have had the option of anaesthesia to knock me out instead of Lanacane, but I donβt do pain too well.
Good luck and prayers for your continued improvement and total recovery. πππ»

Thank for the information for those shots ππ½ππ½
Found this:...Adults 50 years and older should get two doses of Shingrix, separated by 2 to 6 months. Adults 19 years and older who have or will have weakened immune systems because of disease or therapy should also get two doses of Shingrix. If needed, people with weakened immune systems can get the second dose 1 to 2 months after the first. Shingrix is 90% effective.
I had the old vaccine. Been good so far; 79 and fishing!

I had the shingles vaccine through the VA several years ago but I still got shingles anyway! It was extremely painful for 2-3 months! I would not wish that experience in anyone!
