Hey plumbob when I started fishing tournaments in Florida a lot of the guys fought with not being able to sleep the night before a big tournament. One night at Roland Martin Marina me and another angler after dinner got back to our room to crash before the next morning tourney and we saw the biggest bright orange moon coming up as did everyone else. So after checking and rechecking everything we still couldn't sleep. I went out for a smoke and the locals were all around the cove killing blue pounders (big bluegill) with krickets. So we filled our ice chest that night and didn't sleep until the next night. A lot of teams didn't weigh in a fishing that hot bluebird day. My partner driving the boat caught 3 solid 2lbrs and I weighed in a 4.9. We won the club tourney and I got a check for big bass. Soooo just fish until you have to fish🐟🤠👍

I like that Bigfishdaddy. The thought did cross my mind, but we were in Griz's boat the following morning and calling him at midnight did cross my mind.

Hope we get to fish again brother. Weather cut our day short. I'm going back to Bald Eagle to get my pink crankbait unless someone else got it. I'm ok with that. Just don't like it being a stump ornament 😂😂

Just don't get Slim to reach for it. He has a problem holding on here lately.

Sorry Slim but i owe you 1.

It was hot n it was cool seeing the bridge in action. We're old enough to appreciate things like that. Like we talked about it's just our age bracket n we have different values. We'll have a good day at Solley sooner or later. If nothing else it's a nice place to just look around. Thanks for introducing me to the place. 👍

You are most welcome Griz, it is so good to have a fishing friend close by again. Weather should be cooling down next month as should the water temp. I hope to get the Juice up and walking asap after surgery and can get out a day or two to go fishing with you.

All of the above plus being jolted into full consciousness when I realize one or two of the casters I was planning on bringing still had the nasty backlash I had planned to work on after I got home from my last outing but ended up forgetting about b/c I was so tired at the time.

Good reminder for me DC. I snapped a uni knot near the end of the day and said i will re-tie when i get home.

Yep, still need to do it.

I made 159 fishing trips this year and caught 2,179 fish and still plan my next trip every night. I am very fortunate to have had 20 years of retirement.

I've got 18 years of retirement in but you getting way more days than i am. My goal is to beat my Dad's record. 33 years at the post office, 35 years retired.
The night before I'll go to sleep then wake up every hour until I leave. And I still manage to forget something.

Sorry to hear that NJ. I fished a good bit in NC with a neighbor down the street. Cancer took him out and was so sad to see the slow decline in the few years we had fishing together.

Sounds like your neighbor went out doing what he wanted to do though.
Yes we had many great fishing trips. He caught his first weakfish on a jetty at night with a plug and also won the pool on a party boat with my double tandem whole squid rig. Rest In Peace Gus.

Butch is on the road with the Mrs today. He sent me the pics by way of phone and i swiped them by mistake since he sent them from another #. Didn't recognize the # when i was cleaning it from yesterdays scams.

However i just had 3 small stripers in the boat and 1 within 2 feet of the boat. So 3 1/2 catches.

Griz took a picture of a railroad swinging bridge. Hope it turned out and he post it later.

You do know that when you swipe something off, it goes into trash and can be recovered.

That's my biggest problem. I'll need to be up at 0400, wake up at 0300, get back to sleep, then be groggy until 0600. Sleep cycle gets me every time.
