As I understand it, there's a whole other kind of LMB down South--the Florida strain. Can grow 10-12" in one year and up to 10# or more as adults and are bred to be heat resistant. When I fished in SC back in June, the bass we caught on average were way bigger for sure than what we're used to up here in NoVA and points north which is stocked with native or Northern strain and can tolerate cold winters. TX and western states are stocked with Florida strain or hybrid bass containing Florida genes.

Yeah DC the Florida strain can't take the cold up here. I know someone who inquired about purchasing some for a private lake. The breeding company told him it was a waste of money. Also that they wouldn't grow as fast as down south, if they did survive.

It was my onboard BPS 2 bank. It's dead, so I ordered a new one. Might have got a voltage spike from the lightening Tuesday night. We had a couple that struck very close, FLASH -BOOM, instantaneously. I should get it Monday, both our stores are out of stock. I'll use my portable one for now. It's always something, the joys of boat ownership.

Don't ask me what happened to that post I typed. Spell check with a vengeance.

Thanks WD, I usually buy the 30pc bags. Still have another one to go. The 30s normally go for $10 and change, but BPS puts them on sale in the Spring for $7.

I'll have to check that out. My worm collection is a mish mash of brands and colors. The only consistency is the set of Senkos I got as a prize in a tournamen
Heading for Chambers Lake in the morning. I've been trying to get the best combination of weather and availability. I just said screw it. There's no such thing as perfect. Picking up the girls at 0800 and we'll probably fish til noon. High rusk of a skunk but you never know.

Yeah there's no sense waiting for the perfect day, cause it never comes. My 3 most productive colors, in order of effectiveness, are Watermelon green with red flake, June Bug, and Green Pumpkin. I only caught one panfish on the Bubblegum Pink, since we were at Bald Eagle. Good luck my friend, and don't forget some pictures.

Thanks Fred. With the kids in the boat pics are a guarantee, with or without fish. I've got plenty of hardware and a couple dozen crawlers so we should find something. If nothing else we'll end up in the pool in their backyard. I'm looking forward to working the stumps on the surface e then throwing worms along the rocks on the shore and down the ledge.

Don't overlook dragging an unweighted T Rigged worm through the stumps also. Keep the point buried in the worm and they'll slide right through. Tight Lines brother.
