Trying to get my confidence level back, so I know for a fact, that god forbid . It ever becomes necessary to defend myself or others. I can get it done and not shoot an innocent.
The first photo is 5 8 round mags fired in rapid succession.
The second photo is 5 17 round mags triple tap . 2 to chest and one to head. Also rapid succession. Drop mag , slap in another and keep sending them.
The ones to the neck, I realized I had another mag in my bag and was running out of chest and head , so I sent em to the neck

I know I’m a little off center . The whole point of going was to make a fine sight adjustment, but I left my tool bag at home.

It is important that if you carry, ya gotta be very confident . Very confident. If you are not? Well that side arm makes you just as dangerous as the threat you are trying to terminate. Serious business.

It is also important to be totally comfortable with shooting your pistol so it comes natural, not figuring out where the safety is or cocking it.

Good shooting Ben! If you carry everyday you need to be really confident in you abilities. We go to the range 2 x week and try to hone our skills. When we get tired of putting holes in paper we put clay birds on the berm at 50 yards and test our marksmanship. If you can bust them at 50 yards you sure as hell can make decent paper groups, just don't expect to break them every time.

try putting your target on a pendulum and start it swinging. Have your back to the target and turn and fire. two shots 1 to chest , 1 to the head. Most likely a threat is not going to be standing still. excellent confidence builder.

Good point. I often wonder if people think an assailant is going to pose, facing you, at 30 yards and just stand there and let you fatally shoot them 10 or 15 times. Pretty easy to blast a target that’s not shooting back but when the rubber hits the road it’s a whole different scenario. Most people would be running and looking for a place to hide and shoot from in a real situation. I have a good friend that’s a deputy sheriff. He said shooting at the range is one thing and with a little practice most people can draw a picture with bullets on an inanimate piece of paper shaped like a person but when that target is shooting back or moving it’s hard to even hit it.

Never shot that well, so got a bigger gun, the kind that blows the whole padlock thru the door, hit the panel wall, rips it in half, then goes out the other side of the building. Yep, and for my next trick, the .22 handgun. Pulled from the holster at a rabbit that just jumped out from my feet, and hit it on the run at 20 feet or so. I can try to do that over and over and shoot a few 500rd boxes, and still never hit it.

Nice shooting Ben, just like the guy in the Mall, you never know when you might be the one to save a life or two. I don’t shoot as much as I used to, but turn the lazor on the 45, and anything out to 15/20 yards is done.

Good shooting Ben. Did you see about the shooter in a mall in Indy. Young civilian carrying legal took out the shooter before police arrived. Getting praise for saving lives. Pray for his mental healing for taking a life. Thank God he was there.

Well, Ben, I think your confidence should be in good condition. If we ever meet and I should accidentally offend you, would you please just give me a verbal admonishment?

That's some fine shooting Ben. Hope to get there with more practice.

A while back I discovered that there's a thing called "eye dominance". After doing some research (you tube)
I found out I was using the wrong eye to aim. After some adjustment and training, my accuracy improved approx 50%. Still need to spend more time on the range.

So, do you use your dominant eye? Some folks say use both eyes. What are your thoughts?

I was trained to use both eyes.
It’s more a timing thing. Soon as the target point crosses your focal point. Send it.
Aiming takes a lot of time.

And that young man in Indianapolis…
He should never have to buy a beer ever in his lifetime.

And yes. Everyone is right. Never been in a situation where I was being fired upon.
Been in about every other situation though.

Again , it’s all about getting my confidence to where I need it to be.
