My son called me up and asked if I wanted to go fishing for Father’s Day last Friday evening. I was surprised and happy to join him and my granddaughter at the pier.
He’s 49, my only child, and the last time we fished together was 30 years ago when he told me that he didn’t like fishing.
Well, it turns out that he caught the fishing bug along with my granddaughter. The tide was almost dead low so our chances were slim. My granddaughter and I got skunked but he managed to catch a blue and a sea robin.
AND he wants to fish with me regularly. 👍
Another guy snagged a line with a bluefish on one end still attached to a rod and reel on the other. I guess the blue pulled the unattended pole in the water.
Never saw that before!!!

I was bank fishing with my BIL some years ago and I was getting bites but he wasn't so I said for him to come closer to me and he did. He cast his line out and while looking around for a rock to lay his rod on a fish pulled his pole in the water too deep for him to catch it. He just wrote it off but I went several yards down the shore and started to cast a 1/2 ounce castmaster over where I thought his line should be. I cast several times before I said a prayer to let me get his rod back. I just finished praying when I got his rod back and the fish that took it. That is the only time I've ever done that too. People down the beach got a big laugh out of it and so did we......"ask and ye shall receive".

Great story! God answers prayers! We’re guilty of not asking Him. He’s answered a few of mine including healing my wife in 6 days of a debilitating stroke.
I'm happy for ya Bud. Bring on the new fishing days to remember with your son. As far as the rod brought along with the fish caught...At a fishing pier, one dummy hogged the entire end of the pier with six rods. Ended up going home with five after a biggun pulled his newest expensive rod over the rail while he brought in a small catfish at the other end...LMAO. The guy almost cried because he says that he had just bought it for $125.00. Sad, but that's what happens for hogging up a spot with no regard for other anglers . . . That might've been his rod . . . =)
