Shakespeare would likely make reels for the Ugly-Stik. You will do just as well to go with reels sush as Daiwa, Shimano,ABU or similar. The models are constantly evolving and I just stick with what are now vintage reels,(70's, 80's,90's). The newer ones are made cheaper and cheaper every year.

I got my left hand baitcaster from Picifun. 7 foot medium heavy rod and reel combo for $73. I am very impressed with their products. I have 3 spinning reels in various sizes and 2 baitcasters. I would recommend checking checking them out.

Welcome aboard Kevin. Thanks for your input. Looks like a lot of folks have not/are not switching to right hand retrieve reels. Stuck with the left hand with spinning, bait cast and my fly rods.

Karen, here's a little tip. When you respond to a post, if you hit Quote Reply, it will show who you're responding to,in your reply. Just like in mine. It makes the conversation easier to follow. Thanks.
Shakespeare does make baitcasters but they are very entry level. You can pair your Ugly Stick with left handed reels from Abu, Lews, Diawa, or some of the newer brands for just a little more up front, but you'll have a much better experience with it. Good luck and Tight Lines.
