I'm new to bait casting, but I have a issue. I cast with my right hand, I can't seem to find a reel ,which has the spindle on the left, so I don't have to switch rod in my hand to reel in. Any ideas ? Or reels? Thanks

My daughter bought a Lew's American Hero and a Lew's Custom XP both in left hand retrieve. The American Hero was 79 at Dunham's sports. The Custom XP was around 160 at Bass Pro. Those were last year's prices

The reels with the crank on left side end with a 1. Abu Garcia Ambassador 5501 is a 5500 with crank on left like I use.

Many of us on here refuse to switch. Many reels are out there to fit the bill.

Every brand makes left handed baitcasters. Go online, or order one at a real Tackle Shop .

Hey man, it all started with your "snarky comment" . All I said was I just learned to switch over like a lot of people do and that is a fact. And if you don't want to switch that's your choice. I bought a lot of used reels at garage sales and just learned make do. Some of us can't afford a lot of new left handed reels. I'm not going to "characterize" you like you did me without knowing all the details. I'm done and will not respond to any more comments.

Nearly all baitcaster reels have a “left hand retrieve” selection. You should be able to get one from most manufacturers. Good luck.

Klind I've said it before n I'll say it again. If it fits your hand your budget n works for you use it brother. I reel left-hand with spinning n right hand baitcaster. Works for me I have one left hand abu baitcaster. Casts well just feels awkward to me. Just have fun fishing. That's what it's all about 👍☺️

Kline, I too am more comfortable reeling with left hand, just more natural and what I am used to using my spinning gear. Plus, switching hands at end of cast causes a momentary lack of ability to set hook if fish hits on lure landing. Left hand reels are out there, most companies have them.

They're reels that will switch sides of the body research it, my oldest stepson was a lefty and his crank handle changed sides.
