Chuck I'll say this as respectful as possible, Three are 50 senators who refuse to do anything. 50 people who for political reasons who will allow this to continue without a thought of the people they are affecting, just to get re-elected. I grew up with guns and respected their power to take life. We need some common sense rules to keep guns out of people like these hands but those 50 senators stand in the way of any action. Our gun rights can be protected without allowing nut cases and teenagers to own them. So yea this is a political thing, what side are you on allow it to continue or do something to stop it. Those are the only two sides

Just my opinion I like Hunting and did it a lot when I was Younger but I was taught to respect my gun But I do not like the Idea of a gun made especially to kill people to be sold with out making it totally inoperable collectors do not need it to fire to have it in a collection

Thinking about that shooting last night and this thought popped up. American infantry both Army and Marines, defeated the Germans and the Japanese with rifles not as powerful as what the murderer was able to buy last week.
Do AR 15s belong in civilian hands?
I am a gun owner and once was a licensed hunter.

There is a big difference between a semi-auto and an assault rifle besides magazine capacity. except magazine capacity, just because it has a tricked out futuristic looking stock does not make it any more lethal than other semi-autos. I don't happen to own an AR15 or any similar rifles, but many good Americans do and compete with them in their sport. It is not the weapon that did this terrible thing, it was the individual with something wrong with his mind did it. The 1911 next to my chair has never got up and shot someone, I "trained" it better than that. As I said before, the MENTAL health in this country is rapidly declining which will cause more of these tragedies until we do something about it and realize it isn't the good law abiding people in this country/world doing the killing.

I sure don't have the answers. Wonder, since most young people are playing those shootem up video's, pew, pew, pew, eight - ten or more hours per day may affect their minds. I'm old but 5 minutes of those vids would make me cross eyed and stir crazy. Just my thoughts. I'm very, very sorry for the family's unimaginable pain they are suffering.

There are laws in place to prevent many of these terrible shootings like the one in NY. The government dropped the ball and did not prevent this 18 year old from obtaining a gun even though he spent time in a mental health ward. Had they done as the law provides he would have had to get the gun some other way. So the laws are in place I don’t think we need more to further restrict the law abiding citizen.

I'm sorry but I can't agree and if restricting law abiding citizens a little, taking a few extra steps to assure this can't happen then we must take those steps. Our children are dying horrible deaths and many more are scared for life mentally. We gotta do the work and burden ourselves, to care enough to keep this from happening again next week. If we continue to worry more about my right to walk around with a gun than those children right to live, we have met a sad place and I worry about the moral health of our country

Hurt people hurt people! Don’t know the answer but I do know it can happen anywhere. There was a school shooting at a rural upper middle class high school near me about 10 years ago. These kids are desensitized to gun violence by the games they play. Again I don’t know the answer but this has to stop. Prayers for all involved🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I believe you are on point to part of the problem….kids are desensitized to gun violence by the games they play…. For once I would just hope to hear one of our “leaders” call out the companies that produce and distribute these violent games that rot the minds of young men in our country….. just my opinion.

It is Hatred absolutely. I agree that playing fake scenarios of very real looking sounding…everything on todays video games are definitely in the equation. Hate is a variable that some are taught by someone in a game… online… a bully club etc. Hate is evil. I agree with a lot of what is being said on this topic. I have been fighting tears a bunch today. I was out of home awhile but no mater what you listen to or look at has the topic of this thing that keeps happening in this fine country. I am glad to be an American and always will but this shooting innocent people is wrong period.

You are absolutely correct. The truth is law abiding adults could help by admitting there is a problem. It’s completely bogus to continually live in denial that there is not a problem.

We all have opinions and I agree with you. Laws are not going stop killings. We already have a bunch of them but they are not enforced. Police arrest but courts release. We as individuals used to have a conscience that would keep us from doing this. When we have leaders that will come out and say they are sorry and we forgive them doesn’t help the thinking of our kids. By leaders I don’t mean just politicians but also clergy and movie stars.

So sad, he posted on his social media blog what he was going to do. If you post a comment on a political party you will be red flaged in like 30sec,and he posted what he's doing and it doesn't raise a eyebrow like what's going on here. Where's the fact checkers on that one! Prayers for the familys

Your are exactly correct again. The thing I’m tired of hearing and witnessing is there never is a time that it is an issue to a certain breed of people that obviously live in denial weather they are a senator or just a person that seems to still say nothing is wrong.

But still I wonder why the hate is there. I’m pretty sure people are born haters. Maybe some are🤷‍♂️. It’s all way beyond me. This type of hate should be more, critically, dealt with in my opinion. If these haters knew they were gonna spend the rest of their life in prison, no ifs ands or buts about it or better yet dusted by anyone willing to take them out for what they’ve done maybe more would think twice if they had the mental capacity to do so.

So sorry to hear this kids need guidance not video games that talk trash an kill people. I believe it brain washes them. Just like talking about safety all the time at work it's a form of brain washing. 🙏 for everyone involved

Whitey.... I don't see the connection. Safety at work can get you home uninjured, in one piece. Or... just get ya home. Brain washing? I'm kinda dense sometimes, could you elaborate? Thanx.

Wouldn’t it make a bunch more sense that an 18 year old have more requirements than just being 18? Some kind of safety or even at this point in History for there to be some real screening of gun buyers? Unless a person has already been in trouble there is no other screening of mental health or what the intentions with a weapon is before a high capacity type weapon is distributed to anyone. Time will tell if there were some red flags that may of not been dealt with.
