Shop did a rush repair(awesome)got here to Banks 9:30 this morning, launched boat, first bad-motor not wanting to idle after short warm up but got boat to campsite, maybe mile and half from boat launch.second bad-got a water leak at lower motor mount bolt, lucky I had tube of caulk in truck, sealed leak, third bad-broke depthfinder transducer bracket getting back of boat back in the water, will have to attempt repair back at boat launch later, fourth bad-hook up Minn-kota to slow troll but no work(batteries are fine)fifth bad-attempt trolling with the honda that doesn’t want to idle,no depth/fish finder, damn it I'm fishing and the wind kept trying to turn the boat in circles so bad after an hour or so reeled in,came back to camp and presently hiding from the wind in tent telling all you people what a wonderful day I'm having on my first fishing trip since getting my boat repaired. But it could be worse-I could be at work todayπŸ€”

It looks like we were sharing the wind. I am canceling my trip to Roosevelt. Winds predicted to be in the 40s. I plan to head to Banks the following week. We will shoot for LPO and Roosevelt in September. Photo is of my fishing buddy for over 30 years with our dinner. His wife and mine have been friend sense Jr. high school. We are lucky to have wives let us take off while they stay home and quilt together. Good luck on your next shot at Banks.

Looks like a great dinner. My Grandpa would of said...look what the cat dragged in but it sure looks like a dandy. I wouldn't want to be out in extreme weather either sir. The sun will rise again and another day to get out and hook em will transpire. Thanks for the update buddy. One of these years I hope to meet up with you. I am in the PNW and have tried to meet good guys on Fishingstage. Egghead was the first super great Fisherman and buddy. I can't count all the people on my hands anymore. Every single one has been a great person.

Hook Em and Eat em...or whatever you prefer.

Sorry the weather shortened your trip Bapa. If it's not enjoyable, or not safe, you're better off rescheduling. No fish is worth risking your life for. Good luck next week. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I have not heard the comment about the cat in years. That is what my dad often said. He was raised in Virginia and an Army lifer. I wonder where he picked it up.

Is there really such a place on Roosevelt. If so where. How about a similar spot on Banks. I am afraid the wind might keep us shore bound more than we would like. I am een thinking carp spots from the bank.

just got back from potholes got there sunday evening set up the tent and camp. pretty windy and getting late so no fishing. monday again windy so didnt go out. tuesday a bit cold but no wind and got to fish all day but didn't catch a thing. I might feel bad but talking to others at the end of the day that seemed like the norm for everyone. today got up early took the boat to the launch to try to beat the winds, it was raining lightly but the winds were already causing white caps and with winds to 45mph predicted decided to ack up and go home. by the way there is a beach called Medicare beach at potholes that is known for old geezers like me sitting on chairs still fishing for big rainbows

Cross the bridge, go straight up the hill into the dam area turm left by the security gate and follow the road to a right turn off the road. Look for the parked cars. You have to hike down to the lake. Currently 45 feet below full pool. white and green power bait.

I assume you are responding to my location question. If you hit quote reply under a post, it will include what post you are responding to. At any rate, I am a tourist to the area. What bridge am I starting at? Is there any good bank spots on Banks, as our rv will be at Electric City. Thanks
